I’m feeling the love for beautiful crafty things tonight, so I’m going to talk about paper bouquets!
I personally had a real flower bouquet for my wedding, made by one of my very talented best friends ‘ Flowers by Gemma’, and I adored it, but I was so sad when it started to wilt. I should have looked into getting it preserved in some way really, but as with most things after a wedding, I never got round to it, plus I’m not too keen on the whole dried flower thing, so my photos are preservation enough!!
BUT listen up ladies, there is a fantastic, quirky and stylishly individual way to present your wedding flowers in a way that will last for years!! (providing you look after them!!) they will not fade, wilt or sadly go brown in the corner of your lounge, paper flowers are the way forward!!
My first sight of these pretty little things was at my best friends wedding, where her brother had expertly crafted her bridal bouquet and the button holes, from one of her favourite books ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which was perfectly themed to her wedding and her personal love of books! What a fab idea, and she still has it perfectly on show at home a year after the beautiful event! And she has a fantastic, original, creative heirloom!!
The possibilities are endless, once you’ve got the hang of making the flowers, you can make bunches, topiary trees (below) button holes, table centres, table decorations, confetti.. you name it!!
There is a great tutorial on Plumtree Paper goods , if you feel like having a go at making them, I’ve heard they aren’t that hard once you get used to it, I really should have a go!

Hi
I loved reading through this article on paper flowers I’m a paper flower artist myself and just won an industry expert award for my craft, I love the fact that paper flowers will last long after the special event if treated with care and made properly in the first place. Thanks for promoting paper flowers and the craft and skill involved x
